About the Farm
Established in 2004
Blue Heron Farm is nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Loudoun County, Virginia. Farming is a part of our heritage-we were raised among organic gardens, orchards, and animals with a deep respect for the environment, our families, and the community we lived in. This philosophy is strongly reflected in our farming practices today. Our focus is an ecological and sustainable approach that is evident in our own family and the community that surrounds us. For us, farming is a way of life.
Meet Farmer Jen
Farming is a way of life
"I grew up in New England surrounded by family that understood the value of raising and harvesting their own food and the importance of respecting the environment. These strong beliefs and traditions have been passed on through the generations of our family. In 1995, I settled with my husband and children in Loudoun County, Virginia in the beautiful foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. I raise Clun Forest Sheep, Nigerian Dwarf Goats, honeybees, poultry and produce. My focus is an ecological and sustainable approach that is evident in my own family as well as the community that supports me. Farming is a way of life..."
