About the Event
Come sit by the fire with us at the Blue Heron Farm Homestead, as we begin our Hearthside Event Series! You will spend a few cozy hours knitting, sipping local wine, enjoying a farm-raised brunch, chatting with other knitters, and joining us on a farm tour and talk.
This event will start off with brunch featuring products humanely and ecologically grown on the farm, created by a local and internationally acclaimed master chef, and accompanied by your choice of a glass of local *wine or unlimited coffee and/or tea.
Following brunch, Farmer Jen will lead a tour of the farm where you will meet and learn about the Clun Forest Sheep, a rare and threatened breed and the source of the wool for the yarn that will be used for this event.
After the farm tour will be one-hour of knitting instruction lead by Kathy Reed, of Solitude Wool. Learn about the nearly magical properties of Clun Forest yarn and how to wield them for good! We’ll talk about these properties and learn how to explore them independently with curated stitch patterns and project suggestions.
In conclusion, we invite you to enjoy some time to knit and chat by the fireside.
